February 1 %u2022 2025 www.VeteransReporterNews.com VETERANS Reporter News 9PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP%u2019S SPEECH%u25a0 Col KeirnI will have to admit that I had many concerns about our country%u2019s future and Donald Trump becoming President. Now after listening to his speech those feelings are much better. It was well done and there are many things that I did like to hear during it. The Golden Age of America will be greater, stronger, and far more exceptionally was to me a strong point that was made. The one thing that I did like the most was to hear a leader of our country deliver the truth of a dark and brooding denunciation of our government. The Executive Orders that he signed and there were many of them but only a few stood out for me. The Declaration of an Emergency on our Southern Border was right on and long overdue. The renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America I did not like. Who owns it? And can we really do that? Was it even necessary? All this will be answered sooner than later. He said he was ending the Birthright of Citizenship. I am not so sure about this. He has taken an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Now he suggest throwing out Article XIV Section 1 that says all people born or naturalized in the United States are Citizens of the United States. I feel that he may be violating not only the Constitution but also his oath. We shall see. Then there is the fact that when Donald Trump was taking his oath that he did not place his hand on the bible and that can or will be taken several ways. Then there was Elon Musk who is being accused of giving a Nazi hand salute. I did not see that, I did see him raise his arm and hand, but a Nazi hand salute give me a break on this one.I think the that declaring the Drug Cartels a terrorist organization is a good thing because it will open more options for us. And the declaration of war on America%u2019s street gangs was nice to hear. Now maybe we will do something about them.On a lighter side I think that Mrs. Trump should have gotten rid of that stupid hat then she would not have to keep holding it on. Then who am I to say anyway.I did like to hear of the pardons of the military personnel who were discharged for not taking their shots with full back pay. That made me happy. With the infl ated cost of items and his plan to lower the prices that will remain to be seen. Those costs are tied to wages which will be a separate issue. The cut back of the government%u2019s civil service may not be as easy as he would like. There are laws in place and unions he must deal with. Good luck there.Overall, his speech was sort of uplifting and as for making America Great Again we will have to wait and see.Best part was President Biden departing on Marine One and he did not trip getting in.service delivery, the VA is relocating some specialty services to communitybased locations, increasing onsite offerings, and implementing a master plan to optimize patient care.
