As the current commander of Jewish War Veterans (JWV) Post 65 and the former state commander of the Department of Nevada, Roth has committed himself to supporting veterans in multiple capacities.A Life of Service Roth, a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War, has dedicated his post-military life to assisting fellow veterans. %u201cFor the past five years, I was the commander of the Department of Nevada. I relinquished that role last year, and JerryBootson is now the commander,%u201d Roth shared. Despite stepping down from his state role, Roth continues to lead as commander of JWV Post 65, a position he has held for three years. Under his leadership, the organization provides critical assistance to indigent veterans and collaborates with other groups to expand its outreach.More Than Just JWV Beyond his work with JWV, Roth also serves as president of the Silver State Veterans Assistance Foundation. %u201cWe do the same things as the Jewish War Veterans%u2014helping veterans in need and supporting other organizations,%u201d he explained. His commitment to service extends even further.Roth is also an active leader in the Knights of Pythias, a fraternal organization founded in 1862 dedicated to charity, benevolence, and friendship. %u201cIt%u2019s similar to the Knights of Columbus. We focus on donations and helping people in Henderson, Las Vegas, and Boulder City,%u201d Roth said. He currently holds the dual roles of president and secretary of the organization, having been an active member since 2016. A Passion for Giving Back Balancing leadership roles in three major organizations is no small feat, but Roth embraces the challenge. His work with the JWV, SilverState Veterans Assistance Foundation, and Knights of Pythias reflects his deep passion for community service and veteran advocacy. As a Vietnam veteran, Roth understands firsthand the challenges faced by those who have served. His dedication ensures that no veteran is forgotten and that those in need receive the assistance they deserve. JWV Post 65%u2019s Monthly Brunch Meeting On February 2, 2025, JWV Post 65 held its monthly First Sunday Brunch meeting, with nearly 50 members in attendance. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for camaraderie and discussion of key initiatives. During the meeting, Commander Roth conducted the nominations for post officers for the year 2025. He also announced that the Jewish War Veterans National Convention will take place from August 17-22, 2025, encouraging all members to attend. For Roth, service is more than a duty%u2014it is a lifelong mission.
