KAWA has a long history of supporting veterans, promoting cultural understanding, and empowering Korean American women through various charitable activities and educational programs.Acha Chambers, President of KAWA, presented the donation alongside other association members. The event took place in front of the Main Hospital Coffee Stand, where Mr. Rob Johnson, Chief of the VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement, accepted the generous contribution on behalf of the medical center.This donation will help sustain the Veterans Coffee Fund, an initiative that provides coffee and refreshments to veterans as a token of appreciation for their service. This year%u2019s donation included approximately $2,000 worth of socks and gloves, essential items to help veterans stay warm during the harsh winter season.The initiative, aptly named %u201cSOCK U 2 UM%u201d, was spearheaded by Jack Ford, a dedicated member of Post #76. Speaking about the project, Ford emphasized the critical need to support veterans facing challenging conditions. %u201cWinter in Las Vegas can be freezing. We want to help our veterans in need to stay warm during these cold winter days,%u201d he said.Since its inception in 2017, %u201cSOCK U 2 UM%u201d has become an annual tradition for Post #76.
